Why do PRK when you can do LASIK?
PRK is a LASIK alternative that is used mainly for patients who do not have enough corneal tissue to safely perform a standard LASIK procedure. It is also used for patients who are apprehensive or uncomfortable about having a corneal flap created, or who have occupations or hobbies for which having a corneal flap might be detrimental or dangerous – for example, a boxer. Although LASIK is an extremely safe vision correction process and complications are few and far between, PRK has even less risk.
